Wheel Queries

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by jim19971, Aug 12, 2018.

  1. Hi, so I bought my 1974 bus last year and It's come to the stage I'm now wanting to change the steels for the van.

I'm looking for a near original, simple wheel where I can eventually place some hubcaps on.

But the wheels I've got on are 15inch, and the ones I'm looking at are 14inch.

Is this possible? And are there any issues or things I need to consider? And what difference does it make?

If you have any answers or feedback I would be very grateful.

    Many thanks

Original wheels are 14” and will bolt straight on.

James, the tyre size will be different on the 15 to the 14 to keep the overall size correct.

Check that the brakes are still stock - sometimes a 15 inch wheel will be fitted to clear e.g. non standard disc brakes.
Otherwise just fit 14 inch steels.
