My sister had some old silver empis on her van that looked a bit tired so on Monday I dropped them at our local powdercoaters, picked em up this aft and fitted them, I reckon they dont look to bad
Look good. Have they coated where the wheel bolts seat? If so you want to drill that off or they could work loose...
The guy by me does a wheel at £40 per wheel, or 4 for £140. You don't need to blast them off again, just carefully drill off the stud seat with a suitably sized bit. Not saying they WILL come loose, but you increase the risk of this happening
All I did to remove the coating on bolt holes was to tighten the bolts/nuts and then loosen. The coating on the seats would then just neatly fall off, or flake off with a poke.
I Picked mine up yesterday for a van, Got mates rates £20 to blast 5 rims then £20 a wheel to coat, There not bad too. ;D Now its to the rip of tyre merchants £53.00 for a budget tyre. :- Scott.
I got my standard steel wheels powder coated - and now my shiny new wheel trims don't fit. Am guessing I need to take the powder coat back a bit behind the lugs?
Think forty to fifty stripped and coated is about the going rate That's why I binned the steelies on diago they need stripping and painting and had great big nobbley tyres on em so it was as cheap to get alloys nearly
