thanks Robo for the kind offer, I've just looked at the jk link - i'm not looking to drill any more holes (let alone in my shiny chrome) so i'll pass on that one, the link however does show the narrow one which I "think" should be the one Top Banana Racing is on about (this I think will fit exactly to the existing holes in my front panel) as I say i'm not 100% on if i'm gonna do front panel but if I do It needs to be the least damage so use existing holes - ideally i'm after a rear one but beggars can't be choosers.
rickyrooo1 if you want the one Robo has, I could pick it up for you next time I'm in Leicester as I'm often over that way. EDIT: damn, you posted just as I was posting! OK, no worries.
No worries chap, I didn't think you would go for it but then again people do some strange things when its £FREE Dicky That's the one!
I got a devon one off e-bay for £1.99 not fitted yet but will be i have seen a few come up so i would just keep your eye out mine was cheep as it was listed badly as a devon camper

It's certainly the thinner one which i'm after in preference to the one I have, if you don't mind me having it to try I would appreciate it, if in the long term I get a rear one or indeed if someone wants the deep one I have etc - then i'm happy to post on.
not there no, i'll send my work addy so it don't get carded - let me know if you want anything cash wise or maybe you'd like some dollar put in a charity bucket? I did that for steveagain once when he sent me stuff - I don't sell I just pass on - what goes around and all that.
part from Top Banana Racing just received - just a bump to say if anyone has a rear fitting one or a wheel cover going cheap then he is well aware I will return or pass on this one as a front mount is not my preferred fitment - thanks.
i've just won a rear carrier on e-bay sorry if i outbid any of you, thanks to one of the chaps on here for giving me the nod it was on Top Banana Racing if you want the front carrier back let me know - otherwise i'll keep and forward to another member for no financial gain - 'cos that's how it works with me. No idea on the make of the carrier - it may even be a home made job but worth a punt £26 in the end but £15 post so £41 total. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300915538891?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 just found out it's from a member on here although not on much Hector-The-Bay
i presume the problem would be lifting and keeping the tailgate up? you couldn't fit it on the boot lid or you'd have to remove the wheel to get in the engine
I am thinking of making something to fit a spare underneath as a T3 van.Probably using a space saver for extra clearance.
i looked at doing it myself - and putting the spare in the engine bay but unless you get a space save which is expensive itself i couldn't see it working, if this rear carrier doesn't work it'll be on the roofrack and i'll have to try to like it.
rickyrooo1 I am hunting for some cheap space savers at the mo.Breakers etc.If I get one I will let you know where etc as where my mechanic is there are quite a few old Audi's etc been broken.Just had the idea the other week when I borrowed a T3 and one of the others had a puncture and the spares were underneath. Also the Jurgens does ride high
i guess with a space saver you need to think about the load rating - i'm running a westy fully loaded with dogs and the kitchen sink plus my fat arse - bet we're close on 1800 kg? wouldn't like that on a 135 tyre........ Birdy has a audi space saver inside his van and another thing to think of i belive you'll need to widen the hub hole if you do this option? whereuromnosecity has done this with jetta? wheels on 16's - not space savers but 112 pcd i wouldn't mind a 15 inch spare so i could have the same size tyre on it but that said my 195 70 15 are as close to 185 14 as can be so it should be ok
