Part nbr suggests it was for rear window demister!

 

Is it for the Hella accessories (socket under the glove box)?

Just using it to fill a gap on the dash next to the rear demist switch , picked up this nos fog lamp button/cap and I love the colour of it and thought that I may get something connected up to it in the future… maybe Even a fog-lamp

I was bidding for one of those fog light switches on fleabay a couple of weeks ago. Did not win
Was shocked that it sold for ninety quid

sounds fair i already have a fog light switch,although i cant bring myself to drill a hole in the dash,maybe when i find some 70s hella fog lights i will do it,hoping to find some at the nationals at the end of the month
