I've been looking at the engine today trying to familiarise myself with what everything is. I noticed this pipe was not attached. I attached it to where I thought it came from, but please can somebody tell me what it does, just so I know? Thanks.
It goes to a black canister looking item within the engine bay. Usually on the fire wall on a bus with AFC F.I. or on the roof of the engine bay or over to the N/S. The canister usually have the fuel tank breather attached. It was all part of the US emissions stuff.
birdy maybe right - i ragged all that crap straight out of mine along with the egr nonsense and the cat.
What Birdy says, Its all part of the EGR crap, i've got nothing on either of my buses just left that port open, It only blows a bit of air out of it
OK, thanks everyone. Sounds like it's for EGR gubbins then. I'm presuming it won't do any harm if it come loose again?
Nah, but if your keeping the egr you want it all as it should be, if you see what i mean. I would say have a check around your carbs for fuel thoughg as both mine were running original solex's and were weeing out fuel. but i may have just been unlucky. Ratwell has some great info on the vacuum setup: http://www.ratwell.com/technical/VacuumHosesCarb.html
What was the outcome regarding your "Drifting steering"?? Thread apprears to have disappeared................or I cant find it..........same thing!! Tony
