  1. What have your paint jobs cost
I ve spoken to two paint shops so far and although I ve had no firm quotes as they need to look at it which is fair enough and they both are going to look but so far there s 1500 quid difference ones said 1400 to 2000 the Other ones said about 2000
So what have you paid for yours

Ours has cost around £250 to £300 so far in pain alone..we need another 10l of top coat, 10l of high build and probably 5l of etch primer...that doesnt include filler and fine filler though

  5. Full strip to bare metal, whole exterior, whole interior, engine bay, under well arches and fully prepped (which is where at least 75% of all the work is) before repainting: £4500 plus VAT. Like all things in life, you get what you pay for. Price reflects time involved and the quality of the job.

Its the prep work thats the most important part of it, make sure its all dust free etc etc...the better the prep work, the better it will look!

(In our costs, that does not include cost of spray guns, thinners, sanding discs, seam sealer and a huge air receiver)

I paid around the £3K mark.

Unless you're dealing with cowboys the more you pay the better the job (most of the cost is in the prep).

  8. I know it all the prep work and that's something I don't want to do myself don't mind stripping it out glass etc

i got quoted 6 grand for a top job or i can have a flashover for the price of the paint and a few quid if i do the prep, so it's staying patchy.

  13. Him I spoke to today shown photos of a split he painted up to show standard that was 5k
But I don't want show car I just want "well tidy" and not scared to use

  19. I have spent 3K so far and £600 of that was on panels and rubbers.

windows out. doors off and shot blasted. and that is mates rates. tip to toe job.

should hopefully be done by christmas. once again another will say it is all about the prep. do as much of this as you can to save costs.

    good luck with it
