I was pondering on the way home yesterday that I really should fix my windscreen wipers. The slow setting is actually the fast wipe and vice versa, and more importantly the wipers never set back to base - they ALWAYS stop in the middle of the windscreen and I then have to practice immaculate timing with the stalk to get them to reset to the bottom without going through a full wipe rotation. I should fix it...but actually I quite enjoy the challenge of restting without wiping. Gives me something to occupy myself with on long journeys. So I was thinking...what's bust on your bus that you would secretly miss if it were fixed?
I wouldn't miss the non-bloody-cancelling-silent-barely glowing-lights indicators. It's embaressing finding you've gone 100 miles on the mway indicating right.

I kind of like the ritual of holding the pop top with my head whilst i tuck the vinyl in before fastening it down No gas rams on my bus yet
I'd miss the unique smell of 'van' - and my similar windscreen wiper issue, and the poptop tuck, and the door closing slam ........
i'd miss the squeaking - somewhere on the passenger side something is rubbing (door seal?) and it constantly chirps and sqeaks, more recently i'd miss the challenge of getting home before i need the headlights on....it's a lottery if i get dipped or main beam with my busted relay, if dip is on i'm ok but if main is on i have to pull the relay out and bang it then it goes to dip, but if i pull the switch it locks on main again......
Hmmm ... not had mine long but ... The way the whole bus jerks like crazy going from 1st to 2nd ... The rattle from the cooker ... The sprinkler system squirting into my lap when i actually filled and pressured the windscreen washer ... Not breaking the law every time until I get my MOT at the end of the week hopefully ... Being able to get in and out without having to wind down the window and let myself out ...
