  5. When our last independent record shop closed, the owner told me when he started the charts were based on sheet music, and he wasn't kidding.

I know, what a let down. The day I was born John and Yoko were having their bed-in for Peace in Amsterdam; it was the year that man landed on the moon (allegedly ;) ), Woodstock, the Stonewall riots, The Beatles play live on top of the Apple building...… and the sodding Christmas number one is Rolf bleeding Harris!

Truth is i owe Danny Williams an apology

I only just made the Christmas number one as the UK charts began in the year I was born, so I've got Here In My Heart by Al Martino.

Oh how I wish I'd been born in 1973!

  10. I feel the same way, a vintage year that ended on a low point, in so so many ways.

Roger Mcgough, John Gorman, and the other McCartney ... All very talented and funny chaps!
A good year to be born :hattip:
For me on the other hand, we have Cliff Richard

  15. Shouldn't Mancini get the credit, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Seen John Gorman in our local a few times , not for a while though, just checked wiki to see if he’s still with us - he’s 83
