What size wire do i use?

  1. In the not to distant future i intend to fit some extra (Worry) gauges.
I have been looking on the internet, i understand the different colouring but what size diameter should i use, i have seen 0.5mm to 2mm presumably they all have a different job to do.

The first gauge i will fit is a rev counter........

    Voltage gauge.........
    Oil temp........
    Oil Pressure........

Could some one fill in the spaces for the size of the wire i need.

    Thanks in advance

  2. 14/0.3mm (1mm) would be fine for all those gauges. Any thinner gauge cable and you run the risk of voltage drop on the front to rear cabling.

  4. 1mm2 or 1.5mm2 will do fine - there's little current flowing. The trailer wire's also a good idea.

You won't need anything for the volts gauge, as you can connect it to +12 on the fusebox. Don't expect any of them to be accurate ;)

  5. Yeah, that. Just one the one cable, makes life so much easier. I did similar from my secondary fuse box, (connected to the leisure battery), to the cab for the stereo, cig lighter, etc.
