What size gas bottle do you run?

  1. The next thing on my list is to start building up the interior.

I need to buy all the bits before I start measuring up for the cabinates. One of the things is obv a gas bottle.

The PO used a 7kg Calor Butane bottle that looks a bit large. Just wondered what size you guys use and how long it usually lasts? I think all I will be using it for ulis the hob initially and maybe a fridge in the future.

    Trying to save interior space!!

  2. We've got a 3.5kg calor bottle and I think we bought it 2 years ago, we're nowhere near getting through it. Although you'll probably use more gas than we do if you go away reasonably often you're likely to use more than us, a 7kg bottle is a bit excessive.

  3. I have two 907 very small and compact and you can buy them anywhere ,they last ages...

  4. The 907's look expensive! I'm feeling that 3.5kg is probably the way to go :)

i went over to 3.9kg calor from campinggaz 907 - campinggaz is expensive.

Use the 907 ,go camping loads and this time has lasted a year up to now !
Must be going to run out soon ,dont bother using the fridge now as it hammers it as I've got a 3 way now.

  7. I went over to 4.5 calor butane (same size as 3.9 propane) from a 907 due to the price. It fits below the hob on my devon where the 907 was. A lot of petrol stations have them and they are cheaper than 907. It lasted the whole season last year and I think its still half full. I have a compressor fridge so it doesn't use gas, I expect your consumption would be much higher with a gas fridge.
Butane has a higher energy density than propane but has problems in cold temperatures. I dont camp in cold temperatures anyway.

  8. I have stuck with 907 camping Gaz as it fits in the spare wheel holein a westy Berlin unit, I have a spare stored in there too until I get my under chassis tank sorted again

  10. 907 campingaz here, it's the only one that fits under the Westie RnR.

    Refills £20 from go outdoors.

  11. 907`s are available in most supermarkets in France ,you may have problems with any other gas cylinders...I have one under the rock and roll and god knows where the other is ,but it is in the van.....:D

  12. I use a 907 and have a 904 as a back up.

  15. I have 2 x 907 in my Westie which go in the gas locker under the wardrobe. As I now have a Propex heater I have thought of getting a propane cyl for that use. Does anyone know if there is a propane cyl that is the same dia as the 970? I can fit something up to 2 x taller.

  16. 907 mainly because we do ' France and Germany' every year and it's easy to buy over 'there'.
