No not really lol just how much oil in a 6 rib gearbox need to order it so that I don’t forget it also do you put anything on the drain plug threads before install ? Thanks.
Barry (Haynes) says 3.5 L and with regard to drain plug....Snotty recommends gold pain. In the real world, perhaps a bit of anti seize grease. It would appear from various threads, it's the filler plug you should worry about...don't drain until you are sure that the filler plug will come out.
3.5L should do it ..fill on a level till it comes out of the plug hole i think... dont drain until you know you can undo the filler one We didnt put anything on plugs before putting back. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
It’s already drained as it’s a freshly rebuilt unit going in but both plugs move well I’ll order 4 lt thanks a lot.
^this. Might just squeeze 3+ litres into it. Treat yourself to some Castrol Syntrans. The plugs are on a taper, so they seal themselves..
3.5l of Castrol Syntrans Transaxle 75w-90, don’t believe those that say all oil is the same, this does make a difference. https://www.opiecommercialoils.co.uk/castrol-syntrans-transaxle-75w-90-fully-synthetic-gearbox-oil Nothing on the plugs.
I have already read a post about the Castrol syntrans that you and @snotty recommend so I’ve made that decision many thanks.
