What is the latest bay known in the uk ?

  1. I thought 79/80 but last week I had a customer come in with a tintop bay that was on a W plate so 1981 it's a uk van as well, I know it probably sat about for a few years after being made but it just got me thinking what is the latest/newest bay over here ?

This one is a bit sad, been sat for a while and the rot has moved in.

  2. A guy on the type 2 owners club I met had a type 2 on an X plate. Apparently it stood in the showroom for a while as everybody wanted the new version.

    Tiny Pie's is 81 X plate!

  4. Surely it would have just been a late registered one, the vin and m plate should give a real clue as to a build date

the last built ones were 79 that's fact, devon usually were the last reg'd on v plate anything after such as w or x will have been unwanted due to people wanting a new t25 and these just sitting round waiting for a buyer - exactly in the same way some westys such as wilma/poptop were made in 72 but on a m plate due to being sat in a dealer (in the case of a westy - for being expensive)

i don't think they made any in germany after aug 79 so it must have stood around a bit ,

i have one of the oldest type 2b bays ( late bay with high lights and deformation panel ) even though strictly speaking it is a late crossover model !

  7. I reckon it'll be a Danbury on a 13 plate.
