What does this bit on the handbrake balance bar do?

  1. Just out of interest what does the chopper handlebar shaped bit just above #41 do?, i know it retains the pin #40 but why not a split pin for instance?

  2. All the force of the handbrake lever is put on that pin so it needs to be substantial a split pin would bend and try to pull out

  3. Oh the bit above hangs the balance bar from the bracket below the cab floor

  4. As far as I understand (it could be wrong) It stops the handbrake cable/adjuster from going to low and also as a pivot point. Mine came off not long back and the cable was close to the gearbox linkage.

  5. Ahhh, it hangs from a bracket, i just rescued it from the scrap bin after seeing this pic as it is
    Cheers guys
