I have a dilemma.......... After renovation my bus will be in storage over the winter months, so I have been thinking of buying a car for use in the meantime. Living in London, I don't do many miles (may only get used 2 or 3 times a month), just need some wheels to enable me to go fishing, see friends and go to the shops etc. I want something small for easy parking, that will be some fun, be cheap(ish) to insure (just been using classic insurance for the bus so have zero no claims bonus). Looked at Mazda MX5 and Toyota MR2 for some convertible fun. and Triumph Spitfire for something a little more classic (plus maybe tax free, less depreciation). While I could get a hard top for these, they are rear wheel drive, so not quite so good for winter driving. Any ideas what else might fit the bill?
If your only going to use it 2 or 3 times a month you'd be quids in to use public transport or hire a car.
I suggest a VW Lupo - Think there is one for sale on here some where Nippy, cheap, fun and ideal for around london.
Are you in the congestion zone? If you are laying it up for the winter - how are you going to take advantage of a convertible? How much wonga do you have to spend?
Get a Baja - quirky, fun and big fat tyres on the back so you dont get stuck in the mud when you go fishing!!! 8)
How would you get your tackle in a MR2 or Spitfire ?? How about an old classic BMW 5 or 6 series, you'd get your tackle in one of them, and their cheap to buy
