westy roof - what's holding on your luggage rack?

78 westfalia with rear hinged roof - the luggage area bit over the cab.. what's holding yours on?

mine has some rusty self tappers through some washers that don't appear to be an appropriate size. What have you guys got on yours? Any recommendations?

Should be 2 self tappers and 2 m5 screws

 

I put 4 long stainless self tappers in mine - but I don't think that would hold a heavy load - mine's a 73 with the rack at the back .

 

M5 screws at the back were there but to update the thread in case anyone else needs to know, I replaced the FOUR self tappers with new; posi stainless No.10 (4.8mm), Length: 3/4" (19mm) and some suitability sized stainless washers.

Nice tight fit. Much more secure than before. Will be slightly less worried now when the kids are sat up there
