yeah? the one in the pic's is an old marley garage sectional thing which is/was my workshop, usually racked out with tote boxes on shelves etc etc, the other one is a wood 8x4 with the van spares and gardening stuff in
Yer can't have too many of them, was his motto. I forgot to mention the countless jars of tap washers, some I believe from the 1950s. So many, a small country could use them as currency...
My dad has a few metal cigarette boxes with panel pins in them. He had them when I was born and they're still in the garage, I looked a Christmas. That's 55 years of storing something you don't use. On the other hand when my mother died he turfed all her stuff out a week later.
In fairness a man don't need no lady things, you never know when you're gonna need a good quality period panel pin. Well played that man.
I have a Golden Virginia tin with 1" panel pins in, I've had it so long they are now 25mm panel pins. I don't use them, I have an air pinner. I only keep them incase I find another use for the tin.
If you told The Youth Of Today you could get Golden Virginia ("Golden Vagina", as we used to refer to it) in tins, you'd just get a blank stare, I think.
I guess the tin must be 25-30 years old? I've only seen them on sale as special editions/release type of deals, not general sale. I will add there is no rust on the tin either, perhaps I should use it for my next patch repair on the van.
Does that mean you actually have a completion and moving date? Or are they just fecking with you some more?
Me too and Old Holborn ones - my dad had panel pins / screws in them and I have continued their extended use. I have an old hinged Pontefract Cakes tin full of small drill bits etc too
