After reading Woody's and Ricky's threads about T4's and T5's we've come to the decision that the trusty old Bedford Rascal mini camp mobile has got to go She's been a trusty little bus but it's time for pastures new Iv'e been looking like I bet a lot of you have And there's some beauties out there. I was going to put a Scooby in the rascal but decided that I would'nt be able to face anyone without feeling the shame so it's got to go. We only come on here now and then but hope to show you our new van very soon
I i put an oil burner in my Rascal but that really ripped the heart out of it so rather than go back to the 1000cc petrol motor i got shut. I loved that van, particularly the numbness in my toes after sleeping with the rear door open as it was too small to lie full length in. Mine even had the outriggers withbanti roll over wheels on it and i had become quite adept at getting it over onto two wheels to brighten a journey up.
look forward to seeing you (as long as the grass isn't to long) at a caravan club site soon. you know it makes sense.
I don't get the "must stick to VW" thing. If you're not buying a classic why not buy a Renault / Peugeot etc. save a fortune and end up with a higher spec van. Win win.
My thoughts exactly, I just don't get the attraction of a T4/5 to be honest. To me they are just a bog standard, run of the mill modern box on wheels. If it's reliability then our Toyota Hi-ace at work has done 350,000 miles and never missed a beat, but I can't say it's exactly sexy!
