Can you remove the washer jet from outside in order to fit new hose ? Looking from inside it looks pretty difficult especially in drivers side. Ta
Don't twist it - you'll break the mounting lugs. Stick a pair of long nose pliers behind it from the inside and squeeze the mounting ears together. It'll pop out.
Too late ! One broken lug ! Still, I've repiped with no leaks and put the good jet on the drivers (difficult) side. I'll get a new jet and swap over the broken one.
Can anybody tell me a good supplier - I bought a new pair at Busfest last year and they were really brittle when pushing them on and I also lost a lug.
Thanks Snotty. I see JK say they're a genuine VW part and more flexible than some others. The ones I had must have been made of hard toffee.
I've just replaced my washer hoses fitted an electric pump and ended up breaking and therefore buying new washer jets from JK they seem as good as any.
Yup. Pop the old ones out so the hoses come through the front panel, attach pipes to new ones and push/clip them into the front panel from outside.
I've just fitted new washer jets .....twice first lot I fitted, I noticed they were loose in the holes so likely to leak. So I removed them by squeezing the tabs from inside the van...the tabs broke, so I ordered new ones the new ones I got from Heritage were slightly different, the seals were a bit deeper and softer with a 'flange' at the rear and the actual jet its self is slightly raised so it looks like you can adjust the angle of the spray more easily. The ones I got from Heritage had the audi/VW logo stamped on the back and look better quality than the others I had removed the others were either from JK or Coolair but I cant remember which I am planning on puting a small amount of seam sealer around the back of the seals to ensure rain cant get into the van via that route!!
