Warm air intake valve on standard air-box

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Dicky, Jan 28, 2013.

  1. Anyone able to advise on how this works. I assume the vacuum connection goes to a thermostatic valve on the main air-box and then on to operate the flap. Some seem to have a second connection here but no idea why. Can someone advise. Im not familiar with the standard set up. Oh yes its a Type 4 motor

I thought you had a single carb and replacing with Dells?
from vac to under airfiler box arm, then from other connection under arm to flap.
petrol tank breather in top of box lid
oil breather into right side of box lid

    what second connector?

  3. thanks. am toying with the idea of improving the single and feeding it some warm air to improve atomisation (or should I say actuallu achieve some!) utilising a standard airbox. might seem futile to some but.....

Just realised its a T25 airbox - id forgotten that.

You will need manifold vacuum, the thermoswitch would be easy to fit to something else if it's like a bay one.
Pics when you done it please. :)

  5. Would tee-ing off the servo connection and reducing it down do the trick?
