There are people who sell a needle roller bearing and inner shell that pops in the top of the column as a replacement.

I bodged a 28mm outer diameter 22 mm inner diameter bearing in choosing to run the rollers direct on the steering column and then wedged it inside a 28x33 bushing .

Inner diameter 22 mm (inner column) outer diameter 33 mm (inside of top of outer column)...annoying there is no standard bearing.
I fitted a dust seal on top to stop it filling up with dust.

  4. For a late bay? Thought the ones that are like the bluebird ones are for up to 74 only?

    Do you have a link?

    Cheers
