I'm looking for a non cracked one ideally.. I'm replacing a cracked one..

Are you talking original OE VW head or replacement AMC item? The AMC heads are totally different, the combustion chamber shape is the bog standard bus type and valves are 39.3/34. The original VW heads can be either 39.3/34 or 41/34 valves on the same casting number .... you need to confirm which type it is you're after.

 

Correction, AMC heads are all 39.3/33, regardless of application ....

 

It was an original head that cracked.. So I guess I need a good original head..

 

Ill be surprised if its still cheap when the bidding ends, I'd love to buy it just for heads.

 

Will a 2.0 head fit a 1.8 engine? If so, does anyone have one for sale?

 

It will but you'll want a pair of them. Lardy has a pair for sale on here.

Just beware that some if not most (original VW) 2 litre heads are 37.5/33 valves, best to try and get hold of 39.3/33 heads if you want to maintain some performance. They don't need to be 2 litre heads necessarily, just as long as the chambers are cut for 105mm outside diameter barrels (1.8 and 2.0 litre are the same 105mm O.D. at the top of the barrels.
