  1. This AS series 1600 aircooled engine has been removed from a 1979 VW Bay camper to replace the crankcase oil seal at the flywheel end. The leak continued and further investigation showed the flywheel flange to be damaged allowing oil to pass even with the new seal. (see picture). Sale includes the basic engine as per the pictures, no ancilleries.

With a replacement flywheel, this engine is ready to roll. Prior to the oil leak referred to above, it didn't need topping up between 2000 mile oil changes, started on the button and didn't smoke. It ran smoothly without rattles or untoward noises, and was getting 28mpg on a long run! NO CRANKSHAFT END FLOAT !

Would you like a 12 months unlimited mileage guarantee? If you do, then buy an engine from Just Kampers etc for £1400+! But you can have a 7 days money back guarantee, plenty of time to install and test drive.

Let the pictures do the talking, please feel free to ask any questions by Private Message. Cash on collection only, between Bristol and Gloucester 5 miles from Junction 14, M5
