Viking panel van cutting out and fitting windows - gaps?

  1. '79 Viking all new metal all around except ends of rear nearside so now need to do the cutting out for the windows.

Rear nearside has about 1/4" at either end which seems a lot when thinking of the 1/8th (ish) on the windscreen?

So when cutting windows what is the gap that should be left for the seal.

Next step was to fit the seal and measure closure but I wondered if there was a recommended standard gap?

  2. The windscreen rubber is a different set up to the panel van side rubbers!
The size of the glass plus the thickness of the middle bit of whichever rubbers you are using, remember it’s easier to cut a bit more out if they’re tight than weld a bit back in !
Have you got proper curved glass side windows?

  3. Glass left rear and sliding door and two aluminium frames with one fixed one sliding glass
