Viking Jalousie refurb

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by Dave Le Van, Apr 18, 2020.

  1. I am planning on refurbishing the Jalousie window as part of the restoration on my 1979 Baywindow Super Viking.
Does anyone know where I can get a set of seals for it?
I know various shops do a kit for the Westy Jalousie - but mine is "different".

I have one like that, I don't think there are any seals to replace?

  3. Mine has a "flap" which attaches to the top runner and lays over the top glass to stop water coming in. You can see it in the image the OP added. Think it's white

    Oh yes, forgot that one.

  5. I have little brush type seals too on the sides like draught brushes... Think I found those on ebay

I had a better look at mine. As you say, brush strips each side. Flappy one top, squashy one at the very bottom. We're there any where the louvres overlap? Maybe...

  7. I personally didn't have any and I know this as every time I closed the door it rattled lol..

I purchased some 5mm self adhesive foam weather strip to install on mine post rebuild

There are slots somewhere, maybe the handle fixings - I forget exactly, that let you tighten up the closed position to stop the rattles.
