we are in vagas at the start of march not sure of the exact date as we are doing san fran cisco first and mrs lowie has sorted the details out
If you want to go the Grand Canyon and have the time to drive there, I'd recommend driving to Kingman, AZ and then taking Historic Route 66 from there to Williams. Once you get to Seligman it joins up with the interstate highway and there is another short stretch of the old highway around Ash Fork. You can take the Grand Canyon Railroad from Williams to the Grand Canyon. Our Porsche 914 "club" has done this run a couple of times in the spring. The old road is great fun - watch the first "Cars" movie before you do it. Ernie Flagstaff, AZ
We've booked most of our hotels now and hired a Mustang (not a convertible & it wasn't that much more expensive than a normal car) for the drive. Route leave Vegas Monday - Hoover Dam - Flagstaff, Grand Canyon - Page, Grand Canyon again then drive to Monument Valley, then Arches National Park, then one night somewhere on the drive back (Richard's voting we stay in the town of Beaver), then Saturday night in Vegas. Two of the towns we are staying in have breweries :beer_yum: Can't wait
Sam and I got married in Vegas too. At Graceland wedding Chapel. Got seranaded by a fat Elvis and the vicar was the spit of Leslie Neilsen. Quality. Would spend too long there though unless you like slot machines. 3 days was enough for me.
there's a couple of breweries in vegas! in the planet hollywood mall theres a small bar serving local beers, always worth a look. had some real interesting conversations with complete strangers there while the missus was off shopping! i hired a convertable mustang in florida once, was awesome. just watch the speeding tickets though, their limits are very conservative. where you staying then?
