Hi. I am trying to remove the flywheel from the type 4 1800. There a 5 bolts that will not budge. Any tips?
Lock the flywheel get someone to support the motor take a piece of tube on your ratchet and give it some welly in an anti clockwise direction
Stick it in the boot and drive round to a local garage and see if someone will use the windy gun on it...
You need to lock the flywheel somehow (locking tool is easiest but a mate with a heavy screwdriver braced against one of the stude and into the teeth on the edge of the flywheel works too) and the bolts are wheel nut tight as Zed says. They do have serrated teeth under them which bite into the circular metal washer so as soon as they move it becomes easy to turn them, but as others have said a longish ratchet should give you plent enough leverage. It's nothing like the enormous length bar that I believe you need for the single nit on a type one (so I am told as I haven't done a type one myself)
