Hi, Toke my bus engine out
[1800 type 4] about 5 years ago and have got to refit it this year [hopefully] but cannot rememember if i fit the standard rear silencer once the engine is in the bus or can i refit it beforehand ? to save me struggling.
    Thanks

  2. put the silencer on when motor in situ.

You can do it before or after.

I leave the silencer and the heat exchangers until it's in if they're not already fitted - it makes it much lighter and unless you have the engine on a stand, it's easier.

Hi, Thanks for all the replies . I do have the luxury of a ramp and all equipment but being a full time mechanic can be a tad lazy when it comes to working my own vehicles. Hence why my bus has been off the road so long. Will put it on beforehand and rope a few off my workmates to assist me with the lifting etc.

They are super heavy ! bloody expensive to repair, drink fuel and have yet to get mine running 100% but buying a 1600 twin port would be way too easy.
