Type 4 engine install with Autobox

  1. Putting the engine into my bus today and really struggling had a bit of a search but can't find much any pointers.
Struggling with getting the ran shroud past the rear valance mostly and the tourque converter/auto clutch taking up more space.
    Cheers

  2. It’s generally easier with an auto than a manual getting the engine out & back in. The torque converter should stay in the bell housing on the input shaft. The drive plate which is bolted to the crank then bolts to the converter with 3 bolts when the engine is back in.

  4. Oops. Removing the torque converter with the engine is not a good idea. You finish up with ATF fluid everywhere :(
