Type 4 Alternator Seal

An often forgotten about part that aids in sealing the engine bay and keeping it cool as well as keeping the alternator cool.


These fit all type 4 engines and are the genuine article from VW Germany.

These plastic seals (VW Part No. 022 903 203) are NOT compatible with the VW 17/18/2000 Type 4 style engine's alternator coverplate, having a 113 mm diameter, circular hole, which requires a circular, shallow-bell-mouth-shaped seal (VW Part No. 021 903 203) . It is intended for the later pattern of alternator coverplate, with a larger-sixed, 145 mm x 158 mm, pseudo-elliptical hole.
