  4. There are kits to let you use upright fans on type 4 motors and keep the alternator think you prob need the type 4 underside tin, heat exchangers exhaust etc. and then you have the gearbox drive shaft and the engine hanger mounts (?) Oh and carbs to suit...but it can be done, and is... and then you'll get the put a Subaru engine in option... you can just make the type 1 bigger too... but I do like our type 4 (most of the time )
Sure I'd you do a search there will be a thread on here somewhere

If it’s just for a bit more oomph, could you not just upgrade the type 1?

    1. Tinware
    2. heat exchanger and silencer
    3. engine mounting bar and chassis hangers
    4. gearbox input shaft unless you go 5 / 6 rib box
    5. possible starter motor
    6. depending on carbs, the cable tube will need relocating
    7. Fuel pump. If you have a mechanical one, then the pipes will need rerouting

you'll also need a separate voltage regulator and the respective wiring loom from the alternator

    :)

  8. Why do you want a type 4 engine??
