twin carbs and cables

  1. Anyone had a problem with changing to twin carbs and the throttle cable not being long enough

  2. Yes. In the true manner of engineering prowess expected from members of this forum I resolved this issue in the following way:
Attach a large piece of 'choc bloc' electrical connecting block to the end of the throttle cable.....Remove the carrying handle from the nearest available Tilley lamp and straighten....cut to required length to reach the carb linkage, fasten to linkage and into 'choc bloc'...
    Stand back and admire workmanship.

  4. Thats the sort of craftsmanship that this forum stands for. I didn't have a choice block handy so nicked a brake cable wire clamp off my daughters bike and used that to extend the cable. Note to self - tell daughter that back brake may not be quite as effective as before on bike.
