tv packages what alternatives?

  1. He wanted an alternative to the telly

I fished next to another lad a few years ago that had a bank of 12 volt batterys strapped to a wheeled trolley
He had tv and a laptop with internet in his bivvy

I did wonder why he had decided to come fishing instead of staying home
Then again i know a few carp anglers that do it mainly to get away from the mrs

  4. You see more scenery on a bike but see more of nature when you walk

When i was younger the outdoors was somthing that had to be challenged and beaten
So it was flat out everywhere i went

Now im a bit older i actually like to slow down my pace and stop once in a while to soak up and appreciate whats around me

  5. Are they free these pms or are they 0898 and show on your bill as calling abroad?

  6. We're in a 'no cable' area too so couldn't get Virgin when we moved to MK around 5 years ago so went with Sky (with movie package but no sports channels). After the initial 'new customer' discounts and offers ran out we found the monthly bills kept going up and up until they were regularly over £100. We tried negotiating new discounts with Sky 'or else we'd leave', but they refused so we told them to take a hike and opted for a YouView box, which didn't really offer much more than freeview with catch-up and recording capability so we dropped that after a year and went for BT instead. We're now getting better download speed than we'd had with Sky, unlimited broadband, some decent TV channels (including several Sky channels - which are extra at about £8 a month), free landline calls and some extra bits 'n bobs for around £60 a month, so better service for almost half the cost of Sky! Funnily enough... a few months after we left them they were regularly contacting us offering us all sorts of 'new customer' discounts but it was all too little-too late!!

cheers @MK-Bay that's what worries me about sky, i've been with virgin years (they were ntl when i joined) i get so much discount it's unbeleiveable - i pay £50 a month frozen for years cos i threaten to leave every year, bt looks ok, i guess i'm just not gonna get what i get now and i need to face up to it.

  8. I pay 25 per month for full sky package. It was only available to fam and friends of employees this year to promote 25 years of sky. The deal is for 25 months and a 12 month contract. You wont get better unless you are an engineer in which case its free

I haveba Humax with a terrorbite ( may be spelf different) harddrive.
With a UK IP address it can go back intimevon the TV guide.
Twin tuner so watch one channel record another or record two and watch something already recorded.

You will need at least a twin LNB.

    I like it.

  13. Please correct me where its needed and help me understand ricky
Im not picking at you im just confused and its easily done

Your complaining that moving house is going to deplete your funds so camping in bolly may have to suffer
Yet your also asking about extra tv channels that will cost you one way or another

Ditch the tv and the money saved will pay for a day out in bolly with fish n chip supper once a fortnight

You try and make yourself the best you can ever be to impress them

    As they probably do aswell
