  1. in the last photo can anyone tell me what the hose leading to the back of the van with the connector on it with the large round bottom could be????
the cable end you can see its the heat control pod cable which is why im under there to put the heating back in the van where a PO has got rid of it, probably because there was quite a few pieces missing, some of which I have just found out today im still missing, but apparently they don't make replacements for anymore, its the pipe running from the heat exchangers to the tinware which then connects to the paper hose from the blower, anyone with any ideas or replacements or can I just use a couple of universal hoses???

The picture isn't very good and I am struggling to see whats what. Good work btw.

  3. Cheers. I'll try getting a better photo next time I'm under there.

That pipe must go somewhere at each end, what's it connected to?
As for the heater risers, you could make something up but would need to be good heat resistant where it connects to the exchangers and there's not much of a lip to connect to, those bits do come up for sale from time to time, try a wanted ad!

  5. Cheers I will do a wanted ad.
The pipe is not connected at the end closest to the back( you can see It in the photo. ) but the other end I can't seem to find it at the moment. Belly pan in place. Just wondered if the should be a pipe there and what it could be??

Servo vacuum pipe, the "connector" is a one way valve to prevent popping/backfiring breaking the servo.

  7. So what should the pipe be connected to???

One end to the servo, the other end to the inlet manifold take off

  9. Ok what are they??? Where are they???

    Brake servo?

That's the big round thing on the front beam, one pipe will lead to the left hand wheel arch (our LHD's do, RHD may be different) whilst the other will head back to the engine bay.

Zed mentioned a one way valve in the system - you showed this in the image earlier, this will in turn go to a connection on the inlet manifold to create a vacuum to help assist the servo

  11. Right ok then I'll have to check what's where. Cheers.

There will (or may be) a black plastic pipe from the engine bay leading to a steel tube. Near the servo, it will change back from a steel tube to black plastic again, then onto the servo!

start one end & work towards the other & it will make sense!

  13. Well found the position for the reversing light switch on the gearbox, after a little wire brush to clear the gunk. It came out very easily and changed it over and wired it up very quickly so that's all sorted. Also just received the pipe I've been waiting for to connect the air hose to the heat exchanger. So that should a be done shortly. Cheers all.

  14. Well heres the latest photos most the van now has 2 coats of Rustloeum on it with the front only having 1 coat as I had to strip it down to paint and do some repairs first, its coming along nicely I think.

  15. Well finally got around to sorting out the piping for the heating. Had a piece missing from the heat exchangers but thanks to matchy he had the part and with payment sent and part received (a while ago now) finally got to do a dry fit of the parts before I bolt everything together and run the new heater cables. With a little gently pulling and pushing and a lot of swearing I got the parts together and in place.
But none of the parts have come with bolts to tighten the pipes?? Anyone know what size/ length of bolts I should use??

  16. That's the bolts that go on the clamps for the pipes/heat risers and control pods.
