Tracker? Should I buy one

  1. I'm thinking of buy a tracker for my van as they now do DIY fitted ones

    Checkout www.skytag-gps.co.uk

Easy to fit, and they have a 100% recovery record.

They normally retail for £250 but this month if you bygone using the camper & bus mag bulk buy code of "VWcab" you can get one for £125 with 3months subscription and vat included. After that it only £6 per month to monitor it.

It got to be worth thinking about with the increase in stolen camper lately? Everytime I logo in to latebay.com or earlybay.com another ones be stolen.

Has anybody got one? Are they any good?

  2. They would have 100% recovery, tge ones they can't find they haven't recovered!

    Lol ;)

  3. Not got one but will as soon as the bus hits the road.

  4. I would post a link but I'm on my phone, I reviewed a tracker from eBay on a thread somewhere on here, have a little search for gps tracker.

  6. Here's the link to MadFrankie's - http://thelatebay.com/index.php?topic=510.0

Was thinking of maybe getting one of them, so would be good to hear if anyone has any other suggestionsrecommendations. The thing I quite like about the above one is that there is no on-going subscription, true no-one is monitoring it for you, though texting me directly seems fine to me.

Anything is better than nothing. And Baydreams l wouldn't wait until the bus is ready. Look at what happened to Volksworlds T25 :(

Volksworld were in the process of restoring their T25 and it was stolen. It seems any bus isn't safe anymore.

  11. Always check out www.dealextreme.com before buying pricey electronica. They have incredible prices and they post customer reviews.
But I have to wonder, if the cops can find me instantly by triangulating my phone signal, why can't we just keep a cheap spare phone stashed in the van? And if you get a phone with rechargeable minutes you won't even have to pay a monthly service fee. They could just call the phone, which will be set on silent ring, and bang, there it is. Right? Wrong? Anybody?

  12. The idea is the device calls you when it's moving and shouldn't be. By the time you realise it's gone may be too late...

  15. I just wish the universe would stop showing me things I absolutely need that all come with a 3 year contract and/or monthly bill.
What's next? Conglomerate Air? "All the oxygen you need for just $12.95 a month. Sign up now for our extended 14 year contract. Prices are subject to change during your contract period without notice."

  16. You could hire a little guy to go with the phone. People will do anything for steady work these days!

  19. The cgmart one appears to be the same as the reviewed by MadFrankie, apart from its a GPS103-A rather than a GPS103-B, I have no idea what the difference is though :-

MadFrankie's is also cheaper... though from China, so I guess you may question the quality. Though from what he said it seems good - Are you still happy with it MadFrankie?

I believe this is the unit - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPS-car-tracker-GPS103B-remote-control-factory-/270782741351

Am def considering getting one myself.
