Went out this time last week for a walk and a local village pub was open....it seemed rude not to sit in the beer garden for a swift half before the walk home. Only a dozen tables outside, about half occupied. First "proper " drink since lockdown. Got a call Friday evening advising me that a member of the pub staff had got coronavirus!
So what happens now? Without knowing who they were, what use is that info to you? For all you know it might have been the chief and you weren’t anywhere near you. Or it could have been the person serving you. Do you isolate or not ? What about others in your house? How does this work?
There were only 2 staff in the pub, both wore visors and only the one with the card machine came remotely close. Fortunately, Rotherham is asking all townsfolk to get tested and there's a test centre less than 1mile away. Test booked for yesterday at 10.30, got woken up with a text telling me I was clear this morning.
That's what I wondered, but if I'd caught it, almost a week had passed...just think how many I theoretically could have infected.....I'd even been near the wife !

They don't take your contact details when you use the underground. Pub users are Guinea pigs in a way. Sit people together for a few hours, if anyone has it, see who catches it. Quite interesting as a controlled medium scale experiment really and so amusingly perfect for the UK to use pubs!
Interesting theory about the pubs and i suspect you could be onto something there ... As for the tube , everyone has to tap in and out be it on an Oyster card or debit/credit card which are traceable to a certain extent IF they`re registered . The fly in the ointment would be day pass/travelcard bought on the day . And then again , who would be responsible for track and trace on public transport ?? I`m sure the powers that goven would off-load it onto TFL who wouldn`t be able to cope whereby the govenment default practice of passing the blame would come into play ...
Good to see at least someone is being responsible . In that scenario i doubt the same happening in busy cities - especially after just re-opening .
Has anyone else had the COVID app put on their phone? Mrs Cunny has just got a new phone - within 1 day of owning it the Covid app and Gov.uk app appeared by themselves!
Went to a pub for first time In ages on Saturday for a couple, had to fill in name and telephone no. On list . couldn't see any of the Disney characters who’d signed in above us, in the pub. They must have a special bar. No wonder this country’s had it. Mickey Mouse
