Swedish factory made towbar. Made for late bay. Uses original threaded bolt holes. A neat fitting unit that fits inside the rear bumper and all you see from behind is the ball.

  4. That's how i thought they all fitted until i read about some welded on ones. Will this clear the "gravel guard" without having to trim it? Also what are the sticky outy vertical bars for?

The vertical bars are to bolt the bumper onto the towbar. I don't think you can use the small heat shield thing that's fixed to the bottom of the bumper but then probably don't need it if towbar fitted.
If you want a strong towbar to use these are very good.

  6. So the bumper no longer mounts on the original mounts? Not sure this will work with my bumper mounted stuff. :( I was hoping to find one that will fit straight onto the bumper mounting bolts, leaving the bumper in it's original location exactly with no mods to the bumper. I could manage with a modded lower trim/gravel guard.

This type looks very sturdy though!

It does mount to the original bumper mounts and leaves the bumper in its original location. The towbar replaces the original bumper brackets. Its a properly made unit for vw bay window bus.

Most will mount onto the original mounting holes. That's the neat fitting tow bar. Many like mine leave a massive gap between bumper and body. I find it the ideal place for my cup of coffee when servicing :)

Ignore the fact I'm missing the tow ball. I modified mine for my bike rack. The following pictures will show how it looks before and after.

  10. Hello, I have one forsale. Where are you based?

  11. Notts Derbys border. Didn't realise quite how many types there are! How does yours mount C4kky?

Thanks silver for the tip. Interested to see what it's like when on.

FBI does the bumper need drilling to fit to yours or does it use the original mount holes to mont to those uprights?

  12. It's the same as the one in Birdy's photograph (I think). When it is fitted the rear bumper sits further from the bus's body. I'll get some pictures of it tomorrow. The bumper is located near Newcastle upon Tyne.

  13. Ahh not to worry then. I neef the bumper in the stock position
