yeah, a gem of a Shire ! Ilkley is really nice., its the biggest Shire in Britain isn"t it,? anyone get the chance they want to spend min. one day in that converted mill that is dedicated to art ,mostly David Hockey art ,will knock your eyes out,and the story behind how that place came about is truly inspiring !(Hockey? may be Hockney ? the really great painter fella)
A chap from Surrey was speaking once about his new wife, he said i want this house cleaned by the time i get home from work, dinner on the table within half an hour after getting home and the garden looked after so that it will win prizes around the cottage. After a couple of days he didn't see much difference, then slowly improvements were made and within a month things were as he wanted them. Nothing the guy from Lancashire said, I told my missus I wanted full breakfast before i went to work, house sparkling every day, with fresh flowers ( home grown) in every room including the outside privy, and my dinner on the table as I walked up the garden path. It was slow to start, didn't see much improvement for a day or two then yes after the first week things were as he wanted them The lad from Barnsley said I told ar Lizzie I want all t coyl shoveled inta buckets ready for her to bring in as needed every day, mi breakfast ont table afoor I went tut pit, haars totally scrubbed flooors art side and mi snap ont table affor i got in. I didnt see much improvement for the first couple of days, then as the swelling went down i could open one eye and the doctors say my arms will mend within a couple of weeks and be able to walk within the month.
