Pinot Grigio has a long history and shares part of its genetic heritage with Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. As the years went by it came to be one of the most popular vintages to be grown and produced, with over 15,000 Hectares being used to grow the grape necessary to produce it. It has been described as having an acidic, lighter-bodied flavour, most of the noted as having a recognisable ‘spiciness’ to them. It was the 'go to' white wine in restaurants for a long period of my life, Sauvignon Blanc seems to have taken over it's mantle these days, but I've still got a few bottles in the chiller It's also Work From Home Day today, which is a strange day for a Sunday, and has also been overtaken by events.
I love most wine but I find Pinot Grigio totally bland I'm afraid. Wine for people who don't really like wine
At this rate Bern, I may need to join the AA and not the big yellow taxi ones, still , lets enjoy it while we can.
I would agree until I tried this https://www.nakedwines.com/products/stefano-di-blasi-pinot-grigio-2019 By far the best I can recall tasting (throwing down my neck at an alarming rate).
I enjoy a glass of wine, prefer a German not liebfrau or black tower plonk but a proper German rhine or from Franken Region they produce good reds as well as whites. I am a member of the ABC club Anything But Chardonnay
