Today is Get a Different Name Day

Not a new user name - a real life name. The chance to make your own choice and not put up with the one your parents shackled you with any longer.

So, what would you like to be called?

 

Its a bit late but i have often fancied Neal ( as a name not as in fancy him ,before anyone shouts )

 

Duncan Clive, are the names my parents chose for me, absolutely hated them when I was a kid, but quite happy with Duncan now, not too common not wierd!

 

I will be keanu as rob wouldn't let me call either of the boys after keanu reeves.

I'd like a name that would go with Bond, as in 'the name is Bond, James Bond'

The name is 'Bernard Bond' fails

 

I'd go for 'Premium' or 'Basildon' then Bern.

 

Then there's "Brooke" or "Bail" (I can keep going until you press 'like'!)

 

Cant say I've ever had the urge to change my given name but do my online name outside of the interweb sometimes.

not sure what names i'd suit but i do know emma is a pretty boring name... good job my surname is awesome... most people just call me Bosh which i like...

 

Getting married in May so I'm changing From James Dale to James Cattell, I quite like it which is good really!!

Emma neither of you have to change your names its just a time honoured tradition or keep both or even choose a completely new one.

I'm afraid of commitment so had two kids instead of getting married ten years on I've run out of excuses
My partners name just would go with my surname so I'm changing, my Kids are already Cattell's so it makes sense.

Julie hates the name Julie Dawn and blames her dads infatuation with the actress Julie Dawn Cole She would love the name Madeleine Allbright because it sounds so cheerful and would make a damn fine signature. Alternatively we will go with her long established native American name, Rising Wind

I hate my name and blame my dad, full stop! I was nearly Siobhan so I should count my blessings I'll go with my tranny name Derrinda Woods

 

My mother wanted to call me Rock after Rock Hudson (oh the irony there) but my father said NO. Can you imagine the hell I'd have gone through. So she called me Stuart after a character he played in a soap.

I've always liked the name Alex. I might one day just try it.
