Politeness and consideration for others abound on Common Courtesy Day. Say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, hold doors open for others, and consider the feelings and perceptions of those around you throughout the day. It's going to be tough, but I'll give it a go
Firstly good morning all We are heading to dublin today and I hate airports, queuing, and poor service, I could be in for a hard day but will give it a go!!!!
I was taught to always hold a door open for others, to say please & thank you at all times. Guess I was born in the era where "Manners maketh the man" & for that I'm truly thankful. I remember that my Grandpa was always courteous to everyone who worked for him from the most junior labourers through to his managers & I think it was reciprocated.
There is nothing I hate more than when I let someone out of a turning/ cross the road/ hold a door open and they then just completely blank me without so much as a nod or smile. But I just see it that it makes me a better person than them They are probably grumpy and miserable while I am happy so who wins in the end.
Dear Mr Bern Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful and interesting knowledge with us all. We are all very grateful. Yours sincerely Mrs Moosey PS - enjoy Dublin, Alan PPS - I'm often grumpy and miserable, but it it doesn't stop me being polite. I was brought up poor but proper
And your kids will grow up with the same attitude. It's a shame so many are shown a bad example by their elders
Thank you for the likes on my post, I have always told my kids that a please and thank you goes a long way, Steve,
