who happily waved and flashed at me as we sauntered down the m2 to Deal and back today - the new bug, the herbie, the blue bay, the lime bay, the khaki bay, hope you all had a good day. however, to the 2012 plated "bay" driver who gave me the finger in response to my subtle wave of solidarity, I hope your danbury handbrake fails causing your fake bay to roll gently up your "driveway".
Jeez the finger was a bit harsh - maybe be he was jealous or he had a chip on his shoulder? Aussiebay got banned from the brazi bay forum for telling them how it was!!
We experienced the same yesterday to a T25 driver in an either white or cream colour as we pulled off the slip road to Plympton, Plymouth. It was our first proper trip out since getting our restored camper back, and we were grinning like Cheshire cats!!!! So we gave him a wave..... what did we get.........say no more..... Down here in Plymouth we call it the bird.........
Quite so Must admit I've never experienced that from a Brazi Bay driver usualy they are quite friendly .
I'm usually blanked by all Brazilian Bay drivers that I've encountered. It's like they've got some in-built defensiveness towards all other VW van drivers. Even T25 drivers wave back when you wave at them (although many of them seem surprised (and often visibly pleased) when I wave at them). I feel it is my mission to reach out to all T25 drivers, as it's unfair that they don't get waved at.
Could be something in that. I expect there are those who see them as mere copies of an original design and act accordingly. As for T25s, think the jury is still out
Must say to all the late bay and beige coloured prototype bay drivers on the A38 between Plymouth and Exmouth yesterday we salute you for your enthusiasm. And to the new bay we saw near Exmouth Sea Front thanks for letting us pass...... But like I said earlier very disappointed by that T25 driver, however other T25 drivers we saw on way back to Plymouth did flash so def won't give up on them.....
I feel a bit sorry for new bay owners, they get a lot of stick. I imagine the one's you passed have had the same done to them and were getting in first. A sad reflection on the "scene" whatever that is.
It is a bit sad that we have this *******y attitude. I remember in the 80's and 90's when ALL aircooleds would wave at each other. But these days even Beetles don't seem to wave at buses anymore.
i was over there the other day and some bloke with a late bay was asking for advice and was gently guided away and on to " our friends on the late bay " by a mod
The first time I took my bus out after its first mot for 9 years someone flashed and waved, I poo 'ed myself thinking something was falling off Its been 13 or so years since driving a bay so people waving and flashing does not come natural
I forget the other day while driving my merc to work and waved at a powder blue westfalia who waved back instantly! New bay drivers (ie water cooled danburys) are not in the same league!
You don't tend to get the same response when waving at other bays when you are in your daily drive - I think it probably scares people!
Sometimes I'm in a world of my own and don't even notice passing traffic, if I miss you, my kids do the waving
