  15. So my new best friend Malcolm the farmer says yes! :chewie: The eyelash fluttering worked - I may even have snuck in a hair toss (not in a rude way).

He was a bit worried that it could be boggy at that time of year so bring wellies. He's also said no timber of any kind is to be burnt - charcoal or coal only in firepits off the floor (and they must have a base to collect the ash). He did say something about keeping the noise down and I made soothing noises about that. At the moment, the only other people booked on are a DofE group so we're not to lead them astray! >:D

He did make it clear the toilet block is basic so don't have your hopes built up for 5* luxury! There'll be toilet rolls and hot water - what more could we want??? Oh and he's fixed the hot air drier in the ladies toilet. ;D

He will be putting his prices up this year but he's not sure what they'll be yet - possibly £4 per person per night plus £4 for a van or tent. Awnings/additional tents upto £4 depending on size, children below 12, £1.50 and gazebos and dogs free. I'm sure once we have a better idea of numbers, we can negotiate a better deal though! We don't need to pay a deposit, we just pay when we arrive.

I need to let him know approx numbers in the next few days so he knows how big an area to set aside for us. I also have to ring the week before just to finalise numbers and check that it's not too waterlogged (in which case we'll need a plan B).

So I just need to know who is likely to be coming and the following:
Which nights are you probably staying our of Fri, Sat and Sun (or even longer)?
How many adults and how many children in your group?
How many vehicles, tents, awnings etc?

Don't worry - it doesn't need to be set in stone and he's fine if there are changes! If you could let me know in the next week, that would be totally fab.

I have to say Gordale was looking particularly lovely today. I thought you'd all like this picture I took on the way home of rush hour in Malham...

it's got to be worth staying on more than just the weekend, i have a rule that 100 miles is my limit usually as i can get to the coast in that from here and it's 127 miles to this one so i'm gonna make it worth the trip, fingers crossed the van will be ok and no other supprises found, it's M6 all the way for me off at JN31 so if anyone is going up that way on the friday let me know.

  19. Fri 6th to Mon 9th April is CamperFest at Chester, but you can arrive on the Thursday night and it's not a bad price for over the Easter bank holiday weekend and Chester is central for lots of different activities
