  1. Hi , due to to many projects, not enough time and a bit of bad health ive got to have a clear out. First to go is this easy little project....
THE BASICS... '79 bay tin top twin slider
Fitted and runing 2lt FORD pinto ( would be very easy to swap back to aircooled) Engine conversion done about 10 years ago. Works really well, Fast , reliable and dead easy to look after ( points ignition and webber carb )
    Good roof and gutters
towbar fitted ( i think it might be a westy one )
Fitted with mercedes Penta alloys, longer fixings, and nearly new tyres
Factory half hight bulk head intact. Currently 2 seats but could be three seater cab.
Complete heater box (matrix and fan) fitted, plumbed, wired and connected to factory air pipe so really good heating.
Dash has rev counter and water temp gauges fitted and working.
Has rock and roll bed hinges in rear.
Very good chassis, still has factory outer belly pans on.
Has had front arches replaced, still very good.
Front beam has been replaced with a standard height cali one a couple of years ago.
Need to confirm but from memory it has a 6 rib gearbox.
    WORK REQUIRED.....
Needs both outer cills ( about £10 each )
Both rear corners ( about £30 each )
Rear arches could be repaired but id replace them ( about £30 each )and repair chassis rail ends.
Ignition switch faulty ( about £ 10 ). Does still start and run
Exhaust rear box, can be replaced with just about any modern car box ( was astra sri ) depends how loud you want it.
O/S/F jacking point holed, again could be plated but just as easy to replace.
Bottom of both side loading doors need work.
    Needs screen.

So its a pretty straight forward project and i dont really want to sell it but im 3 years into my westy and still not ready for paint so im not going to get onto this for a while. Vehicle does start, run and drive but with no mot, tax and no screen it will need trailering. I have a full log book for it in my name and it is sorn. Its located in Hull east yorkshire HU8. I will be taking pics as soon as it stops raining and ill try and post but not quite sure how at the mo. If your interested i can e mail pics or to discuss just give me a call on 077 10 57 40 40. Obviously the work required list is not comprehensive, so come and have a look.
PRICE.... now ... there are plenty of really rotten projects out there which people think are worth a fortune. This does need welding but not that much and it still looks like a nice bus ( its yellow by the way with a white roof ). Some people will think its worth more with the engine conversion, some will say less... thats up to you to decide. As is £1700... with an MOT £ ??????
    Thanks for reading. Colin.
