Could you not make an adapter plate for the mounting brackets to sit it an inch or two higher? That or lift the bus a few inches Im the same height as you so will be interested in how you find it once your out and about camping
That would be the way I would go - 1/2" to 1" though, not several lol, but I have to drive it on the road first and see how it handles. If raising it made it too bad in the wind I'd rather bang my head from time to time.
You spent long enough camping in a tintop so an awning you occasionaly catch your head on wouldent be the worst thing in the world. Id be interested if you did lift the bus a bit on how it handled This present bus of yours is great for me because its like your real world testing some of the things ive thought about doing to mine down the line. Its always easy when someone else does all the work and trials Its all looking great steve i love the shade of green and i think the canopy housing will look fine once painted or coated somehow
He'll need a succession of admirers standing upright in his van and commenting on the awesome headroom inside with the Poptop. Somebody will have to comment appreciatively about his new fridge and we will have to organise a table monitor to lovingly smooth their hands around the edge and marvel at the lack of splinters. I will accept the task of removing various kites and winding handles from the mouse hole and being comically surprised at how much can be stored inside it.
Then torch it, dance around the fire, claim on the agreed £25K insurance and buy a boat apparently. Sorted!* *That, mr government snooping spider is a joke.
Yup he's no idea that bobs hidden a tracking device in the Formica for the table and you can download the Zed tracker app for your smart phone
Talking of which... 1st 2 for @Paul Weeding, the rest or general amusement and the answer to why you are cold (if you are). Original Repro Original Repro Original Repro and finally...
Thin vanes for rapid heat transfer, and loads of surface area or the originals. The repro ones look like storage heaters to hold the heat and boil your carbs from below when you stop.
