I can't ever understand a word the 3 Customer services people say - luckily my interwebnet through them works fine - I can imagine it would be hellish trying to get a problem resolved....
They are testing 5G in Taiwan, faster than broadband they reckon. We will soon have basic telephony mastered over here.
We have had BT broadband for about 5 years and never had a problem with it at all. Not the cheapest but you generally get what you pay for. Mind you I would be tempted to try Virgin if possible but we live out in the sticks so we can't get it out here. My mobile is with 3 and the coverage is a bit erratic to say the least but I got a good package and I dont use my phone that much anyway.
I had an EE issue where my tethering option had disapreared on my iphone ,thought I'd ring them up and enquire (usually just search the web) their advice was I needed to back up all my data etc and do a full factory reset which would be a pain the ass ,went online and googled and sorted within about 2 min, really poor training.
Does anyone still use their home phone, i don't even know our number and we ain't even got a phone plugged in
Not in our house this was the whole point, no cable, no bt just a damn good internet service and mobiles. Only. It's a damn poor internet service and the phones lose signal if you're sat on the sofa or stood in the kitchen It is quite good in the upstairs loo and on the roof. and it's not too bad halfway up the silver birch trees at the bottom of the garden.
Bt hear no problems for 2 years and they were the chepest at the time Went with bt and they own the line so if you have problems its them that come out I had big issues with talk talk i had a line issue and could not get anyone to sort it as bt would not talk to me as i was with talk talk and talk talk would not call bt out because it would cost them so they kept telling me it couldn't be the line.
nope ,not for years ,only calls I ever got were wrong numbers or people trying to sell me something when I had it plugged in ,chucked it over the fence a few years ago
Still get mine out the cupboard for 0800 numbers as my mobile charges, so once a year for all the insurance renewals. If it does ring when it's plugged in I just pick up the receiver and put it down again...no one I want to talk to has my landline number.
Poptop, I had exactly the same experience with Three a few years ago. I was passed from pillar to post too. In the end I rang up to cancel and advised them that I was recording the call on my mobile ...glad I did because two years later i was being chased for a couple of hundred quid by a debt collector. I subsequently dug out the recording, surprised I still had it and they could not believe it after they insisted that I had never cancelled. I still had to pay a nominal £20 to get them off my back ...wish I hadn't but at the time they were really winding me up. I only recorded the call because I had a feeling they were neither listening to me nor taking me serious. Good luck sorting it out
No, ditched the line as well and went over to mobile for everything including internet. Use 3 for internet as it works really well here, £15.99 a month for 15 GB. We have no fibre and our BT line is rubbish, so were were only getting 0.1 Meg plus drop outs. For mobile internet, you need to check: http://sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/ You can see where the masts are and what level of service they offer. I found 3 had the best service on a mast close to the house, bought a 1 month contract that I could terminate any time to try it out and then switched over to a proper contract.
Exactly this. They are very nice to you on the phone ,almost sycophantic, but they just pass you from person to person while they build their defence. It feels like a game to them...Who can fob off the customer without doing anything about the issue Best!
Initially I spoke to one guy this.morning to cancel a sim only contract I had not used for over a year that cost £10 a month I told him that I thought 3 never listened to The customer and asked to cancel it without paying another 2 months as I had already paid 12 months without use. He went straight away into a sales pitch, saying I was valued customer and he could do it cheaper. I said calmly that I had already said they don't listen and here he was ignoring my request to end the contract and trying to sell me something I didn't want. He got very defensive and snivelling and apologised for twenty minutes. He still charged me 2 months to end it and asked me if I was happy with his service today. I said no he never listened and tried to sell me something instead. An hour later I got a call from him saying i never had to pay the two months and he spent another 3 minutes apologising.
