  13. I always love the more vindictive types who gain great pleasure from others misfortune and exhaserbate existing situations to heap on the misery. Once they have someone on the run then they can get even more pleasure by being in the driving seat and by controling and manipulating the situation whilst the "wind-upee's experience is inversely proportional to that of the wind-up-er's they spiral downwards fully knowing they are being woud up but usually outraged not only by the viewpoint of the winder-upper but knowing they are being wound up.

The ultimate is to then patronise them by saying - "I was only winding you up mate" or accusing them of having a sense of humour failure. The Winder-upper is therfore still in the driving seat and in a superior position and the blame lies with the other person. Not only that - he gains the accolades of others who gain pleasure from the misery of the wind-upee!

Still interested in what peoples definitions of winding someon up is and also what makes someone deserving of being wound up.

  16. I think its known as 'Trolling'

    http://www.flayme.com/troll/

"The term derives from "trolling", a style of fishing which involves trailing bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. The troll posts a message, often in response to an honest question, that is intended to upset, disrupt or simply insult the group."

  19. the rest of the article is also very interesting.....

"For trolls, any response is 'recognition'; they are unable to distinguish between irritation and admiration; their ego grows directly in proportion to the response, regardless of the form or content of that response.

Trolls, rather surprisingly, dispute this, claiming that it's a game or joke; this merely confirms the diagnosis; how sad do you have to be to find such mind-numbingly trivial timewasting to be funny?"
