This is nothing new. The Caraboat was 'launched' in 1971. 64 were made but less than half are around now, with only a handful on water today. Legend has it that in 1973 at Trent Lock, a press party were on a caraboat when strong wind caused the vessel to veer severely off course. "At just six horsepower, the engines were woefully underpowered" confesses Mick. The occupants of the boat had to be airlifted to safety, and creator of the craft Tom Carr then went back to the factory and smashed the moulds, meaning no more caraboats were ever made.
No mate, you pick one up very cheaply........... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260853162696&_rdc=1 You just got to love them though! ;D
Why? Some folk are just plain mad. I wonder how much it cost the fool to develop this? How many are going to sell? 3 at a push I reckon. It doesn't look very stable either. It'd be much wiser, cheaper and safer to hire a boat.
