Have been thinking about doing a Scooby conversion to Winnie, but I guess the problem is I'm not sure whether the conversion would devalue her - I definitely want a Scooby powered van, but I'm not really sure Winnie is the right candidate - Westys are worth more money all original and Winnie is very OG. I saw a perfect Westy on the Samba with no interior (except RnR bed) and no engine, 2.0l model with a gearbox and it's got me thinking. I'm probably not going to use Winnie much before next year - four or five times over the next month or so - if I sold her I'd have time over the winter to do another van with a Scooby engine etc...and I fancy a different interior - did like the look of those ones on the conversion pages - Starlight Campers was it? Any thoughts?
do it , there are a few cheap import about with no engines interiors etc, £3k for a van 1-3k to convert and 10k left in ya pocket
I think camper owning was more fun when the value was so little it wasn't a consideration. But I still think like that, so just do the one you have. I doubt it would devalue it anyway particularly as fuel prices will only rise.
I'm not sure...my experience is a top notch Westy is worth more in original form than converted - most buyers seem to want original and converted vehicles however well done will always worry them - let's face it, a Scooby conversion is quite a serious mod and whilst I like to think the work would be done well not everyone is going to know that. I think I must be mad - have been talking about extending the house too!
