The will it/won't it fit in the garage lottery...

  1. So the top of my noggin rubs on the bottom of the up-and-over door, making it 6'1" worth of space to squeeze my 73 Devon bay in, by way of context here it is with its previous lowering job

, when I'm done it will have a T2D narrowed beam on dropped spindles up front and some adjustable spring plates and a chassis notch out back so I'm hopeful it'll squeeze in, this is my first bus after 20 years of driving most of the other aircooled classics so I'm fairly clueless on dimensions bus-wise, any advice or similar experiences most welcome.

I think having a choptop bug may have lulled me into a false sense of security about the height of my garage, please put my mind at rest folks as I've told the other half that it'll fit no problem haha!!

  2. Drive in very slowly....

    Or measure it first :bag:

  3. Get a set of small steel rims and drop the tyres off them if its for winter lay up?

  6. You could always go for the safe option and hydraulically lift your garage and lower it back once you have your bus in...or take out the door to give yourself a couple of inches ...and put back some nice side hinged doors so you can get it out again.. ? :)

  8. Guess it would be more justifyable to lift your garage if you were reconstructing a Tiger 1 tank from a single piece of armor you found while camping...but maybe running the tyres nearly flat might be more practical rather than having to re mortar several courses of brickwork...make a great resto thread though 8)
