Guardian earlier in the week http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/gallery/2012/feb/20/google-street-view-nine-eyes-in-pictures?picture=386213525 scroll to picture 13 bay or splittie, not sure, looks like a bay but has barn doors? with an engine fire Address is 9 Rua Pereira da Costa, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil I went on streetview to have a look but google have blurred it now. look to be two fire extinguishers on the pavement and an ambulance is there with more people standing around watching it go up and taking pictures, sad indeed
I've stared and stared and studied and stared and i still can't work out if the woman on the beach is actually neckid?
I know a guy in hereford who had a really nasty hybrid which could have been made nice. It had a split rear end, with corner windows, so louvered vents in the side of the body. It had split side loading doors, whilst the rear end from behind the cab seats was essentially a split screen body, it had late bay rear suspension set-up. From the rear of the cab seats forward was a late bay front end, with a split screen shaped roof but bay beam and discs etc. Overall the van had the dimensions of a bay. A real parts bin Frankenstein's monster, but for just a few hundred pounds it would have been worth chopping the front panel off and grafting in a split screen front panel to complete the look and have a bay dimension split All that and it was so far gone he scrapped it
that's the one, but the white one is based on early mechanicals (wide 5 stud pattern) The one at the back looks to be based on late mechanicals. I'd have one and stick a split front on it to make it a bit more pleasing to the eye, not to try and pass it off as a split. A bit like sticking a GTi badge on a Driver I saw a green newbie hand over a lot of cash at VF last year to someone selling a 75 plate fleetline and passing it off as a split screen. I'd already enquired at the price and was truly shocked - the vendor told me it was a genuine German built splitscreen which had been imported in 75, hence the plate. They knew what they were selling...
Jenson Button's one that was ebay was a fleetline too wasn't it? and that was up for silly money, I'd have one either a fleetline or an early Brazilian bay, but it would have to be for the right money, In fact i was tempted just before i bought my current bay by a 1980 brazil one.
